#9 CURATED BY JEROME PROCHIANTZ: a photograph, a book
MARCH 17, 2025, THROUGH JUNE 28, 2025
For the first time, the L'INAPERÇU bookstore is entrusting its curation to a collector.
"A Photograph, a Book from Jérôme Prochiantz's Collection" presents a selection of 50 photography books featuring reproductions of prints from his collection.
Jérôme Prochiantz is no ordinary collector. A photography enthusiast, he has amassed more than 500 prints over the years, which he has lovingly hung on the walls of his apartment.
An apartment where photography icons such as Robert Mapplethorpe, Arthur Tress, and Nan Goldin share space with other, lesser-known artists who have had a profound impact on him.
Jérôme Prochiantz also owns more than 600 photobooks featuring the photographs he has collected. As a result, the book becomes an extension of his passion for photography. These volumes serve as valuable records of his journey as a collector. This unique interplay between prints and photobooks offers a fresh perspective on this deeply personal collection.
About Jérôme Prochiantz
A passionate art collector, Jérôme Prochiantz began his photography collection in 1998 with the purchase of a print by George Dureau. His acquisitions then continued at a more rapid pace. His collection, which now includes more than 500 prints, reflects his personal tastes, his discoveries, and his fascination with recurring themes such as the body, sensuality, and intimacy.
The BnF, to which he donated his collection, presented a selection of 65 prints in early 2025, offering a glimpse into the richness and eclecticism of his collection. The exhibition, titled *A Taste for Photography: From the Jérôme Prochiantz Collection*, brought together major works of contemporary photography.
