"La Guilde du Livre: Photo Albums, Lausanne 1941–1977"

Published in 2012 by Les Yeux Ouverts, the book by Éric Desachy and Guy Mandery, *La Guilde du Livre*, traces, album by album, the history of the photo albums of the Guilde du Livre in Lausanne, founded by Albert Mermoud.

Great photographers, writers, and poets such as Robert Doisneau, Izis, Jacques Prévert, Colette, Cendras, and many others have shaped the history of the Guild.  Widely distributed, the Guild’s publications have contributed to the recognition of photography in Europe and beyond; some albums, such as Izis’s *Le Paris des Rêves*, which sold over 120,000 copies, have achieved exceptional print runs.

In *La Guilde du Livre*, 600 reproductions illustrate the Guild’s 84 photo albums, accompanied by bibliographic notes and historical commentary that shed new light on this epic publishing journey.

La Guilde du Livre has published 84 photography books over the past 36 years, and L'Inaperçu is pleased to feature 73 of them at its newsstand.

On display through November 9, 2026!
