HELLO FUTURE - Farah Al Qasimi
Hello Future is the culmination of Al Qasimi’s photographic, performative, and cinematic practice, unified by her interest in surface and texture, and visual influences that evoke radiance and blossoming. Farah is a brilliant and promising multidisciplinary artist whose work examines postcolonial structures of power, gender, and aesthetics in the Gulf States, as well as global cultural confluence and migration in the broadest sense. The monograph includes an essay by Negar Azimi and a conversation between Al Qasimi and artist Meriem Bennani.
Farah Al Qasimi was born in Abu Dhabi in 1991 and now lives between Brooklyn and Dubai. She works in photography, video, and performance.
