GOOD NIGHT - Feng Li
Feng Li (冯立, 1971-) is a Chinese photographer from Chengdu. Renowned for his work on street and fashion photography, he is also official photographer for the Sichuan region. "Good Night", published in 2022 by Jiazazhi Editions, follows a first work published in 2017, "White Night". Seeking to represent another side of reality, he assembles here black-and-white photographs that had then been set aside when the first work was produced. He defines these photos as monochromatic, rather than black and white in the traditional sense, because for him, black is more than just black. For him, this book is a farewell to the good old days. "This is the way the world is, and it's a state of uncertainty," he says. Since then, he has always maintained an instinctive eye and a very direct way of photographing.
