Johanna Calle created this which she calls a “ photographic drawings” based on gelatin silver photographs — anonymous works collected with the care of an ethnographer. Her own gestures are added to the ephemeral gesture that produced the original image. Little by at little, she erases her original features, bringing out delicately the signs of a buried history : a landscape reveals the lines of a musical score, a face gives way to a polyhedron, a series of aerial photographs traces the silhouette of the canopy of the tropical primeval forest.
