THE OUTLANDS - William Eggleston

Out of print

The publication of *Chromes* by William Eggleston, released by Steidl in 2011, marked the beginning of an exploration of this extraordinary artist’s prolific body of work through a series of books, including *Los Alamos Revisited* (2012) and the ten-volume set *The Democratic Forest* (2015).

The three volumes of *The Outlands* are drawn from the same source, the color slide photographs Eggleston took from 1969 to 1974, which served as the basis for the Chromes volumes and John Szarkowski’s landmark exhibition of Eggleston’s work at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1976, along with the accompanying book William Eggleston’s Guide. However, with the exception of a few alternative versions, none of the photographs in The Outlands have been published before.
