We were delighted to welcome you to Christine Barthe’s opening reception, featuring her selection of photobooks titled “SUR/AMERICA.”

There you’ll find several artists and publishers who contributed to this new showcase of photobooks at the L’INAPERÇU booth, including Oleñka Carrasco, Liza Ambrossio, Valenzuela Escobedo, Yann Gross, Alexandro Eerbetta, and many others.

About Christine Barthe

As head of the Photographic Collections Department at the Musée du Quai Branly – Jacques Chirac, Christine Barthe is responsible for acquisitions of historical and contemporary photography.  She has curated several exhibitions, including the current exhibition *Habiter ce monde* (*Living in This World*), co-curated with Malick Ndiaye and Annabelle Lacour at the Théodore Monod Museum in Dakar, and the recent exhibition at the Musée du quai Branly, *Ouvrir l’album du monde* (*Opening the World’s Album*), featuring photographs from 1842 to 1911, (2023), *Dinh Q. Lê: The Thread of Memory and Other Photographs* (2022), *To You Belongs the Gaze and (…) the Infinite Connection Between Things* (2020), as well as *Photographs: An Early Album of the World* at the Louvre Abu Dhabi Museum (2019). She is a member of the selection committee for the Musée du Quai Branly Jacques Chirac Photography Prize, dedicated to contemporary photography.
