For many years, the photobook remained in the shadow of photography, but today it has conquered its autonomy and become an essential component of photography under its now-established name: Photobook.
Faced with the diversity and number of publications, from the invention of photography to the recent craze for the Photobook, the need for a compendium has arisen, giving rise to compilations with a universal vocation, such as the Parr & Badger trilogy, or to collections devoted to specific fields: geographical areas, photographers, themes...
It's with great pleasure that L'INAPERÇU, whose DNA is Photobooks, brings you a selection of some fifty of these compilations, the Books on Photobooks, often rare because they are highly sought-after by collectors.
To coincide with this carte blanche at L'INAPERÇU, Editions Innocences and Les Yeux Ouverts are co-publishing The Book of Books on Photobooks, a compilation of books on photography published around the world, featuring over a hundred references.
