DIE TRAUMADETUNG - Joan Fontcuberta

180,00 €

Die Traumadetung was published in 2016 on the occasion of the fourth edition of the Maria Cristina Masaveu Peterson Foundation's "Miradas de Asturias" project, a sponsorship initiative aimed at creating and promoting a collection of photographic works inspired by the Principality of Asturias and its habitatns, an autonomous Spanish agricultural community located in the northwest of the country. Artists Alberto García Alix, Ouka Leele and José Manuel Ballester also took part in this collective artistic project.

In this work, photographer Joan Fontcuberta (1954-) expresses the idea of sick images, suffering from a kind of deterioration or pathology that disrupts their documentary function and prevents them from living on through archives, despite their extraordinary plastic singularity. This work is based on images from various Asturian photo libraries. Inspired by Freund's work on the interpretation of dreams(Die Traumadetung in German) and the facts of internal mental life, Fontcuberta transforms the dream into a trauma, or another aesthetic, dreamlike or conceptual dimension.

Published by Fundación María Cristina Masaveu Peterson, 2016.

23.5 cm x 32 cm, 92 pages, very good condition
