8 WOMEN - Schorr necklace

40,00 €
Out of print

Collier Schorr’s latest book, *8 Women*, features works spanning from the mid-1990s to the present. In her early works, the American artist appropriated advertisements from fashion magazines to address issues of authorship and desire; these works introduced a female perspective into the debate on the representation of women. Appropriation was Collier Schorr’s primary medium, and in a sense, she returns to it here, taking her own commissioned fashion images and reframing them in dialogue with other works.
This book features a variety of subjects, all involved in performance, whether as artists, models, or musicians.
Working between the release and manipulation of tear ducts, Schorr wonders who the women are who wish to be looked at.
