ARCHITECTURE - Andreas Gursky
Through the photographs of German photographer Andreas Gursky (1955-), living environments, the diverse locations of our globalized world and the arenas of historical and political power are transformed into emblematic pictorial compositions. This publication brings together some fifteen large-format works taken by the celebrated photographer between 1988 and the present day. Architecture is a particular focus here, a central complex of themes in the work of the Düsseldorf-based artist. For the first time, each of Gursky's photographs is accompanied by commentary by a well-known author. The kaleidoscope of text and images attractively demonstrates the depth and breadth of his architectural concept, with a focus on the structures and textures of the buildings' exterior and interior spaces.
