CÔTÉ FENÊTRE - Antoine Lecharny
Starting from the seemingly mundane experience of a train journey, a photographer and two neuroscientists are transforming the way we experience and think about it. They take us to the “window side”: where the landscape rushes by, where our gaze wanders, where the rhythms lull us and carry us away to other times and places.
Antoine Lecharny traveled the Paris-Deauville route by train until he was completely exhausted. From the obsessive repetition of these journeys emerged “Côté Fenêtre,” a series of photographs featuring a succession of fleeting moments stolen from the passing landscape, captured through the lens of the artist-photographer. This work was recognized with the 2021 Tremplin Young Talents Award at the Planches Contact festival.
Throughout these pages, Joëlle Provasi and Mireille Rossel share the latest findings from neuroscientists about our brains, turning this train journey into a fascinating exploration of how we interact with our environment. We get a glimpse of our brain’s countless capabilities when it comes to rhythm, learning, and repair.
