Flipping the Bird - Jaap Scheeren

29,00 €

Flipping the Bird is the visual narrative report, a photo novel in fact, of a long and intensive walk in the dunes, during which the artist attempts to reconnect with nature. During this walk, Jaap Scheeren slowly falls in love with the landscape, the flora and fauna, and believes that this love is reciprocated. A special, surreal, humorous and confrontational dialogue is created between people, flora and fauna.

At the climax, mutual love proves to be an illusion, and the main character must choose a path. The story takes place in the dunes, in relation to the permanent threat posed to our humble country by the sea. Human actions and the choices we make now and in the future are of great importance in this respect.
