The old photographs of photographer Rafael Goldchain’s Polish Jewish family were lost amid the turmoil of emigration to South America in the 1930s, the war, and the Nazi camps. Goldchain fills this void by recreating a fictional photo album: he has taken on the appearance of every member of his family through an impressive effort involving genealogical research, makeup, and costumes.
