LEZTZE GENERATION OST - Kirstin Trüb
The narrative book *Letzte Generation Ost* explores the lives of a generation born in the final years of the GDR. The Hagenow housing estate in eastern Germany, where the photographer and his subjects grew up together, played a central role in the photographic exploration of their various life stories. Their families conformed to propaganda principles; they received a socialist upbringing during their childhood and lived in the typical high-rises of Hagenow. Naturally, since the collapse of the former GDR, much has changed. Interviews with nine selected representatives of this generation, along with portraits and various photographs, offer a glimpse into the memories and experiences of the “last generation of the East.”
