LEZTZE GENERATION OST - Kirstin Trüb
The narrative book Letzte Generation Ost deals with several lives of a generation born in the last years of the GDR. The residential area of Hagenow in eastern Germany, where the photographer and his protagonists grew up together, was central to the photographic exploration of the different biographies. Their families corresponded to propaganda principles, they received a socialist education as children and lived in Hagenow's typical tower blocks. Of course, much has changed since the collapse of the former GDR. Interviews with nine selected representatives of this generation, together with portraits and a variety of photographs, give an impression of the memories and experiences of the "last generation from the East".
The book consists of a 150-page book with a small portfolio of photographs riveted to the cover, 9 "fact sheet" type cards, one for each family involved in the project, all presented in a box printed on the top.
