MARINE HUGONNIER - JPR RINGIER

40,00 €
Out of print

The work of Franco-British director and photographer Marine Hugonnier, which she describes as "a politics of vision", is rooted in the observation that what we apprehend visually depends on the point of view we adopt. At the frontier between documentary and fiction, she explores the different modalities of cinema, and deals with the ethical issues involved in the production of images, especially moving images. The films she produces are generally presented as installations that evolve according to the exhibition space. Widely shown at film festivals, they now extend beyond the strict context of contemporary art into the field of visual anthropology.

Text by Martin Herbert

Published by JPR RINGIER in 2010 in association with Malmö Konsthall, Kunstverein Brauschweig and Frac Champagne-Ardenne.

23.7 cm x 28.6 cm, 160 pages, good condition

ISBN 978-3-03764-079-1
