Today still, the image of the Indian is marked by the century-old representations of photographer Edward Curtis. His portraits have created an image distorted romantic of the American Indians of the North. The paintings by Curtis served as point of departure to Eric Klemm - to take himself a completely different path . For a year, Klemm traveled to through the United States and the Canada and took photos of men, women and children from 81 tribes. The portraits of passers-by Indian vibrate with immediacy and are rooted in the present in their liveliness. The "Silent Warriors" have seen the day with the camera large screen in the street, on white background, without artificial light, without theatrics. They radiate with silent pride, heartbreak and intransigence.
