Louis Vuitton Fashion Eye is a collection of photo books that offers a glimpse of a destination through the eyes of a fashion photographer. It juxtaposes contemporary work with little-known archival treasures to create a collection of reference works, both in its approach and its aesthetic. American photographer Sean Thomas paints a vivid portrait of Texas—as folkloric as it is authentic—punctuated by cowboy boots, ranches, and blazing sunsets. Having always been fascinated by cowboys and cowgirls, Sean Thomas has roamed the wide-open spaces of Texas in search of these men and women, emblematic of America, at rodeos and other livestock fairs, where cows and horses reign supreme. Beyond the clichés, the photographer also offers a glimpse of a less expected Texas, embodied by Houston and Marfa, a temple of American modernism with a minimalist bent.
