American photographer Sean Thomas paints a portrait of a colorful Texas, as folkloric as it is authentic, punctuated by santiags, ranches and blazing sunsets. Fascinated by cowboys and cowgirls for as long as he can remember, Sean Thomas roamed the wide open spaces of Texas to meet these men and women, emblematic of America, at rodeos and animal fairs, where cows and horses reign supreme. Beyond the clichés, the photographer also offers a glimpse of a less expected Texas, driven by Houston and Marfa, the temple of American modernism, with its minimalist tendencies.
