TREPAT - Joan Fontcuberta
The "Trepat" box set by Spanish artist Joan Fontcuberta (1955-) was published by Editions Bessard in 2014 to coincide with an exhibition organized by MACSA (Catalonia Museum of Archaeology for Agricultural Systems) and dedicated to the Trepat collection, a little-known treasure trove from the history of Spanish photography. This series of photographs highlights the centenary of the birth of the Trepat factories, Spain's leading producers of agricultural machinery in the twentieth century. The exhibition was curated by Joan Fontcuberta, himself a creator as well as a historian and author of several books on the history of Spanish photography. The images assembled here bear witness to the experimental path taken by the avant-garde: from Cubism to New Objectivity, from Preciosism to Surrealism, from Constructivism to Social Realism...
The limited edition comes with a metal piece from the Trepat factory on the front cover.
Published by Editions Bessard, 2014
Copies 289/350, 148 pages.
