Diego Mormorio was born in 1953 in Caracas to Sicilian parents. A journalist and later a critic, he quickly developed an interest in the history and sociology of photography. He serves as artistic director of the Galleria Acta Internazionale in Rome and heads the Centro Studi della Fondazione Italiana per la Fotografia. His articles and numerous books offer open, historical, and sensitive analyses of the human and social issues at the heart of photographic creation and interpretation.
