ITALIA O ITALIA - Frederico Clavarino

55,00 €

Mysterious and austere, the metaphysical cities of *Italia o Italia* hold the enigma of a timeless place, nestled between sun-drenched dead-end streets and shadowy arcades. Federico Clavarino’s unsettling muses shape an Italy of the mind, composed of obscure symbols set against sunlit squares. A kind of tranquility permeates every photograph in this book, transforming what is depicted into a seemingly uninhabited space. Yet all these fragments are imbued with humanity, found hidden in an invisible element of the landscape, in the gesture of a hand, in a segment of a column, or in the disorderly movement of a humanity present even in the smallest stone. These imperfections of everyday life, which emerge when time is suspended by the lens, reveal the individuality of a place that seems to be awaiting a new beginning—or rather, a different destiny. Originally conceived by Federico Clavarino, *Italia o Italia* is the first large-print artist’s book published by Akina. All images were digitized from original C-prints developed in the darkroom by the author himself; prepress specialist Victor Garrido worked with Clavarino and the printer at Grafica Palermo (Madrid) to achieve the best possible color reproduction.
