PER STRADA - Guido Ghidi
Per Strada brings together photographs taken by Guido Guidi between 1980 and 1994 along the Via Emilia, an ancient Italian road connecting Milan to the Adriatic Sea, which passes not far from his home. Even today, the Via Emilia remains the main thoroughfare in the southern Po Valley, passing through medium-sized cities such as Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena, Bologna, Forlì, and Rimini. Using an 8x10-inch view camera, Guidi focuses his lens on the "interstices" between cities rather than on historic centers. His three-volume work presents a rich palimpsest of traces in the landscape, shaped by centuries of residential, agricultural, industrial, and commercial activity.
Three paperback volumes bound together in a printed slipcase.
