At first glance, *Preganziol, 1983*appears to be a simple exploration of light, a photographic exercise aimed at defining and describing physical space within a photograph and the way light shapes these descriptions. Upon closer inspection, the series reveals great depth: Guidi’s interior portraits evoke the idea of the camera obscura; the exterior views recall the Albertian window; the bare walls create an aura of emptiness and abandonment; and the play of light on the walls symbolizes the passage of time.
