VERAMENTE - Guido Guidi

100,00 €
Out of print

Veramente encompasses the entire body of work by Italian photographer Guido Guidi, bringing together selections from his series spanning from 1959 to the present day to highlight the distinctive photographic language he has developed over a 40-year career.

Guidi, a pioneer of the new Italian landscape photography movement, was influenced by the history of architecture, Italian neorealist cinema, and conceptual art. Using photography as a process and an experience of understanding, her work constructs a visual discourse that questions the nature of the gaze, or the meaning of visual representation.

Veramente is published to accompany a traveling exhibition of the same name, which will open at the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson in January 2014, before moving to Huis Marseille Museum voor Fotografie in Amsterdam in June and to the Museo d'Arte della Città in Ravenna in October.

Guido Guidi was born in Cesena, Italy, in 1941. He studied in Venice at the University Institute of Architecture (now IUAV), where he took courses taught by Bruno Zevi, Carlo Scarpa, and Mario De Luigi, and attended an advanced course in industrial design with Italo Zannier and Luigi Veronesi.
